ACHIEVEMENTS

Close collaboration between SHRO researchers has yielded a number of important discoveries on the path to understanding the genetic mechanisms of cancer.


 

PATENTS AWARDED

SHRO currently holds 15 patents mostly on genetics of cancer, diagnosis and prognosis of cancer and informatics, under the direction of Antonio Giordano, M.D., Ph.D.


AWARDS

The second annual Sbarro Health Research Organization (SHRO) Summer Fellowship was awarded to 2009 Temple University graduates Jasmine Rupert (Public Relations and Communications),and Courtney Hartman (Psychology). The two recipients traveled to Siena, Italy in late May for six weeks, where they will work at the University of Siena on a public health research project that explores and compares ethical issues and attitudes of Europeans, Americans and Canadians towards biotechnology. Results of the study will be sent to the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research
