Actress Cristiana Dell'Anna Joins Prof. Antonio Giordano and Experts at Sbarro Health Research Organisation: Exploring Cinema-Medicine Nexus
The actress Cristiana Dell’Anna, who will play the role of the missionary Francesca Saverio Cabrini in the film “Cabrini,” scheduled to premiere on March 8, 2024, will meet with the president and founder of the Sbarro Health Research Organization, Antonio Giordano, MD, PhD, along with Miguel Mostafá, dean of the School of Science and Technology at Temple University and Micheal Polo, the National President of Sons and Daughters of Italy in America in Philadelphia, on February 23.
The biographical drama delves into the life of the renowned Roman Catholic missionary and future Saint Frances Cabrini, chronicling the challenges, obstacles, and opposition she faced in New York City. The film sheds light on the themes of sexism and anti-Italianism prevalent in the late 19th century.
Professor Giordano praised Cristiana Dell’Anna, stating: “She is a strong supporter of cancer research, particularly supporting our Sbarro Institute both in the United States and Italy. Moreover, Cristiana hails from Naples, like myself, adding significance to her visit, especially for those familiar with the emigration phenomenon, such as the people of Campania. I am honored to welcome her to the laboratories of the Sbarro Health Research Organization, especially given the depth of the character she plays.”
Professor Antonio Giordano, M.D., Ph.D., is the creator and head of the Sbarro Health Research Organization, located at Temple University‘s College of Science and Technology in Philadelphia.
