SHRO & NIAF One Health – Celebrating Italian-American Scientific Collaboration
19 Oct , 2026
Thank you to everyone who joined us at One Health – An Italian-American Scientific Forum: Shaping the Future of Medicine.
It was an inspiring morning of dialogue, discovery, and collaboration, bringing together Italian medical excellence and American innovation in Washington, D.C.
A special thank you to our distinguished awardees, Professor Attilio Di Spiezio Sardo and Professor Francesco De Seta, for their outstanding contributions to women’s health and for sharing their groundbreaking insights during the keynote lectures.
A special highlight was the presentation of a new translational initiative: a dedicated center for endometriosis, born from the synergy between ESSI—founded by Dr. Andrea Vitali—SHRO, and Temple University. This project embodies the spirit of One Health—recognizing that health is shaped by biology, environment, technology, and human experience working together.
Professor Antonio Giordano, President of SHRO, added: “One Health is more than a concept—it is a commitment to building bridges between nations, disciplines, and people to advance medicine for all.”
Dr. Canio Martinelli, Head of the Clinical and Translational Research Program at SHRO, shared: “This forum reminds us that the future of women’s health lies in collaboration—where clinical expertise meets scientific innovation to transform patients’ lives.”
Dr. Giancarlo Arra, Vice President of SHRO, emphasized: “The synergy between ESSI, SHRO, and Temple University shows what is possible when vision meets determination: a new era for endometriosis research and care.”
We are grateful to all speakers, partners, and attendees for their commitment to advancing research and building a healthier future.
Finally, a heartfelt thank you to NIAF – National Italian American Foundation for hosting this memorable event and for its continued support of Italian-American scientific collaboration.
