Fides et Scientia – Vincenzo De Colibus Award (2024)

In March 2024, Professor Giordano received the Fides et Scientia – Vincenzo De Colibus Award in Sarno (SA), conferred by the AMCI Campania Region. The award celebrated his dedication to scientific research, his seriousness in study, and his commitment to the common good, aligning with the values expressed by Dr. Vincenzo De Colibus. ​

Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement (2024)

In 2024, Professor Giordano was awarded the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement in Venice. The award recognized his scientific excellence and his research on the correlation between health and pollution, particularly in the Campania region. The recognition also acknowledged his courage in revealing the links between illegal waste management and the incidence of cancer in the “Land of Fires.”​

Leonardo da Vinci Award (2023)

On April 24, 2023, Professor Giordano was honored with the Leonardo da Vinci Award by the Italian Heritage and Culture Committee of New York. This prestigious recognition celebrated his professionalism and commitment to human health. During the ceremony, the Italian Consul General, Fabrizio Di Michele, highlighted his contributions to the world and humanity. Giordano expressed his dedication to promoting Italian values and advancing scientific knowledge through international collaboration.​

Honorary Achievement Award (2023)

On March 5, 2023, at The Breakers Resort in Palm Beach, Florida, Professor Giordano received the Honorary Achievement Award from the Italian American Cultural Society of Florida. The award recognized his outstanding scientific achievements in genetics, cancer research, and gene therapy, as well as his efforts to promote Italian culture. Notably, he established a virtual bridge between Italy and the United States through the Sbarro Health Research Organization at Temple University.​

Padre Pio Award (2022)

In 2022, Professor Giordano received the Padre Pio Award in Pietrelcina, Italy. The award recognized his exceptional contributions to scientific research and his dedication to promoting human health. The ceremony underscored his commitment to both scientific excellence and humanitarian efforts.

Journalistic Award “Mimmo Castellano” (2021)

In 2021, Professor Antonio Giordano won the “Mimmo Castellano” 10th Edition Journalism Award for his investigations into the illegal dumping of toxic waste by the Italian Mafia.

Humanitarian Award (2018)

In 2018, Professor Giordano received the Humanitarian Award from Filitalia International & Foundation during its 31st anniversary celebration. The award recognized his commitment to promoting Italian-American talent in various fields, including medicine and scientific research.​

Grande Ippocrate Award (2012)

In November 2012, Professor Antonio Giordano was honored with the prestigious Premio Grande Ippocrate in Naples. This national award recognizes Italian scientists who excel in research and effectively communicate complex scientific topics to the public. Giordano was acknowledged for his significant contributions to cancer research and his commitment to public health education.

Board of Directors of NIAF (2011)

2011 elected to the Board of Directors of NIAF (National Italian American Foundation); 2012 Grand Hippocrates Award as Scientific Researcher of the Year, given to those Italian researchers who combine the excellence of their scientific work with a proven ability to communicate results to the general public.

Commendatore of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic (2010)

The President of the Republic Giorgio Napolitano by his own decree awarded Prof. Giordano the honorary distinction of Commendatore of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.

Honor UASD (2010)

In 2010 appointed professor emeritus at the Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo (UASD).

Gran Gala Made in Italy Award (2009)

In 2009 awards at the year-end Grand Gala of Made in Italy on Rai Uno in the Research Abroad section.

Cavaliere della Repubblica – President of the Italian Republic (2001)

In 2001 awarded the title of Cavaliere della Repubblica by the President of the Italian Republic, Carlo Azeglio Ciampi.
